World’s Oldest Woman

Get old sucks. I realized this a few years ago when I was at a party at a friend’s house. His younger brother had some friends over. This college kid pointed to me and my wife and said, “Who’s the old people?” to our friend’s brother. He answered, “Oh, those are my brother’s friends.” What he didn’t say is, “Who them? They’re not old, they’re only 30.”

Today a story came out that the world’s oldest woman is 130 years old. The press hasn’t been able to fully verify that fact, but there are some well supported claims that make the story appear that it could be true. In my opinion she doesn’t look that old. To me she looks to be about 95 or 100, either way, it is way, way, past her prime. But what’s 30 years once you’re over 100?
